If research shows there are nine reasons for anxiety and depression and only two of them are biological, why have we been fed a distorted picture of what causes our darkness? What aspects of our society lead us to separation and why do people from developed nations feel the need to hide failures and vulnerabilities from others? Host, Lisa Cypers Kamen speaks with two authors who have made it their life’s work to demystify depression and unravel the intricacies of anxiety. Dr. Margaret Rutherford uncovers the connection between perfectionism and suicide and Johann Hari discusses the impact the loosening fabric of society has on the current generation in the United States and Britain.
