Paolo di Croce, graduated in Environmental Engineering at the University of Turin and began working for Slow Food in 1998 to coordinate its projects including the Ark of Taste and Presidia. From 2003 to 2006 he served as the General Secretary of the Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity, which defends the biodiversity of our foods and gastronomic traditions from the world over, promotes sustainable agriculture, respect for the environment, cultural identities, and the wellbeing of animals. In 2004 Paolo Di Croce served as the President of the Committee for Terra Madre, organizing a biannual gathering thousands of food producers from over 150 countries representing a new way of approaching food production and attention to environmental resources, planetary balance, and the quality and sustainability of products. From 2005 to 2014 he served as the Secretary General of the Terra Madre Foundation. Besides being the Executive Director of Slow Food International, Paolo Di Croce serves as International Secretary of the Slow Food International Board of Directors, the highest governing body of Slow Food International. A lifelong advocate of urban agriculture and sustainable food systems, Megan Klein is FarmedHere’s president. Megan has served as the Chair of the Chicago Bar Association Food Law Committee (2014-2015) and is currently a Board Member of the Chicago Food Policy Advisory Council. Prior to joining FarmedHere, Megan started a legal practice focused on helping local food businesses and worked with the City of Chicago and nonprofit groups to improve Chicago’s permitting and licensing of urban farms. She also served as an associate in Chadbourne & Parke LLP’s energy practice group, and later worked at Earthjustice as an environmental and sustainable foods advocate. Megan is passionate about indoor agriculture and believes it is a critical component of a sustainable food future. She holds a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, a certificate from the New York City Environmental Law Leadership Institute and a B.A. from Boston College.
