Gina’s childhood was shaped by the tragic loss of her father at a young age, the brokenness and contradictions of those around her, by violence, and by abuse. Losing herself in rebellion at an early age, she rejected all tradition and authority, ultimately finding grace and recovery through surrendering to a “power greater than herself” who restored her to sanity…most of the time.
Working with Shakti has been a powerful and transformative process for Gina. She feels it is an honor to work alongside Shakti, and is grateful for the mentoring she has received from Shakti. Today they enjoy a rich partnership bringing Shakti’s work to the world.
The relationships in our lives — whether with romantic partners, coworkers, family, or friends — are often our greatest source of both comfort and frustration. In the enclosed review copy of The Relationship Handbook: A Path to Consciousness, Healing, and Growth (New World Library, November 1, 2014), which is her first book in nearly fifteen years, beloved bestselling author Shakti Gawain, and her coteacher for many years Gina Vucci, show how they also have the potential to be our greatest teachers.
“It’s very difficult to look inside ourselves and see what’s going on in there, particularly to see what we’re unaware of,” write Shakti and Gina. “That’s why it’s important to look at our relationships as mirrors of our inner processes. Used this way, relationships become one of the most valuable sources of healing and teaching in our lives.”
