Our individual stories run the gamut of human emotions. On one hand, loneliness and depression are raging through the millennial generation and on the other hand, people are discovering new virtual ways to connect during isolation. While statistics of our disconnectedness may be staggering, the solution is simple.
The more we take the time to celebrate our milestones with rituals, the more we are grateful for what we have through breaking bread with one another, and the more we lend an ear to someone who yearns to tell their story, the more satisfied we are in our human experience.
To find out more about the inventive ways people are igniting a spark of connection from the human energy grid, Harvesting Happiness Podcast Host, Lisa Cypers Kamen speaks with Rob Lawless and Aliza Kline.
Rob Lawless created the 10K Friends project to feed his desire for connectedness and because he is curious about other people. And Aliza Kline utilized design thinking to build a community-wellness site to invite connection by celebrating Shabbat with others around a dinner table.
Rob Lawless is a man on a mission to spend 1 hour, 1:1, with 10,000 different people to learn about their lives and see what comes of opening doors for no particular reason. Since starting his project in November of 2015, he’s met over 3,200 people in over 20+ cities across the U.S. and Canada and has been covered by several different press sources, including the Kelly Clarkson Show, NowThis, Ryan Seacrest and the NY Post.
