Lori Ducharme, Ph.D., is program director for health services research at the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, a component of the National Institutes of Health. NIAAA is the world’s largest funder of scientific research on the impact of alcohol use on human health and well-being. Dr. Ducharme manages a portfolio of research grants that aim to improve the quality and effectiveness of alcohol treatment.
She was also lead developer of a new online resource called the Alcohol Treatment Navigator, which offers a strategy to help people find alcohol treatment options for themselves or those they care about.
